Guide for owners and admins

Smart folders: every paying fan in one folder

Telegram lets you add at most 100 chats to a folder by hand (200 with Premium). Agencies hit that limit fast, so paying fans end up spread over Paid, Paid 2, Paid 3 and so on.

In FanEmpire, a smart folder fills itself from rules: who paid, how much, when, who is waiting on a link, and tags. The Paid folder pulls your old Telegram Paid folders into one folder with no size limit. Everyone on the team sees smart folders as tabs in the Telegram folder rail, and nothing changes in Telegram itself.

Walkthrough

Set up the Paid folder, build your own and use Waiting

This follows the film’s four chapters. Each one jumps to its moment in the video. The Paid folder is set up for each model separately, because each model has its own Telegram folders.

Access

Who can do this

  • Creating, editing, hiding and ordering folders needs the Manage smart folders permission. By default only the Owner and Admin roles have it, but you can add it to a custom role in Team.
  • Without it, Folders is not in the Settings menu, and the page says You can't manage folders.
  • Everyone on the team, chatters included, sees the smart folders and Waiting as tabs in the Telegram folder rail.
  • The Paid folder setup needs a model with a Telegram account connected.

Tips

Tips

  • Short on ideas? Add templates gives you Payers, Paid in 30 days, Whales, Lapsed and Waiting to pay, and it skips any template you already have.
  • If you’re already filtering the chat list, go to Filter chats and click Save as smart folder to open a new folder with that filter filled in.
  • Hid a Telegram folder by mistake? Find it under Hidden Telegram folders and click Show again.
  • You manage smart folders in Settings, not on the rail, and the order in Your folders is the order of the tabs.
  • When you delete a smart folder, it goes away for everyone on the team, but the chats stay.

FAQ

Questions about smart folders

Does this change anything in my Telegram app?

No. The Paid folder and any folders you hide from the rail exist only in the CRM. Your Telegram folders stay as they are, and you can show a hidden folder again at any time.

Is there a limit on how many chats a smart folder holds?

No. Telegram’s 100/200 limit on chats added to a folder by hand doesn’t apply, and a smart folder holds every chat that matches its conditions.

Who can create or edit folders?

By default, the Owner and Admin roles. You can give a custom role the same access with the “Manage smart folders” permission. Everyone else sees the folders as tabs and can’t change them.

What does Waiting count as unpaid?

A fan whose last sent payment link hasn’t been paid. The chat leaves Waiting once the fan pays that link or someone chooses Stop waiting.
