Guide for managers

Mass DM, scheduled posts and Stories

Mass DM sends one message to the fans in one or more Telegram folders, from the model’s own account. You see who it will reach and the limits before you send, and you can stop a run or take it back. The same workspace also schedules a single chat message, a channel post from the Vault, and a Story from the Vault.

Roles

Who can do this

Mass DM doesn’t need a feature switch. Each job below needs a permission, and you can see them all in Settings → Team → Roles.

  • Mass DM: any role with Create and send campaigns. Take-back also needs Manage sent Telegram messages. Owner, Admin and the default Member (chatter) role have both.
  • Stopping or cancelling someone else’s run: the person who started it, or a role with Moderate other operators’ campaigns.
  • Scheduled chat messages and channel posts: Schedule Telegram posts. Owner and Admin have it. A Member doesn’t by default, so give it to a custom role if a chatter should schedule. Channel posts also need the Vault switched on for the account.
  • Stories: Manage Vault stories plus Access every Telegram chat on an account. Owner and Admin by default.
  • The workspace-wide send log in Settings → Mass DM: Owner and Admin.

Tips

Before you press send

  • Mass DM paces itself: one message every 20 to 40 seconds, up to 80 fans per batch and 150 Mass DMs per account in 24 hours. If a list is bigger than one batch, only the first 80 go out, and you send the rest as a new batch later. These limits are conservative. Telegram publishes no safe number, and staying under them doesn’t guarantee Telegram won’t limit the account.
  • A fan is skipped automatically if they wrote in the last hour or a chatter wrote to them by hand in that hour, so a mass message doesn’t land in the middle of a live conversation. It shows as Skipped · in conversation.
  • To keep one fan out of every Mass DM, open their chat info and turn on Exclude from mass DM. This adds them to the Excluded folder.
  • Uploaded photos can’t repeat, so for a repeating Mass DM attach the photo from the Vault.
  • Automatic take-back never deletes a message a fan has replied to. A manual Take back deletes it for everyone, including fans who replied.
  • Telegram schedules chat messages up to 367 days ahead.
  • Owners and admins see every account’s runs in Settings → Mass DM.

FAQ

Questions managers ask

Who can send a Mass DM?

Anyone whose role includes Create and send campaigns. Owner, Admin and the default Member (chatter) role have it. Scheduling chat messages and channel posts needs Schedule Telegram posts. Owner and Admin have it, and you can give it to a custom role. Stories need Manage Vault stories with access to every chat on the account.

Will the fan see a message I take back?

No. Take back deletes the message from the fan’s chat as well as yours, usually in under a minute. Stopping a take-back halfway doesn’t bring back messages that were already deleted.

Does a scheduled Mass DM re-check the list?

Yes. A scheduled or repeating run works out its recipients again when it sends. Fans who joined the folder since then are included, and the skip rules are checked again.

What happens if Telegram limits the account?

The run pauses with a message that says why (a rate-limit wait or the daily limit, for example) and what to do next. Some pauses continue on Resume. After a spam limit the account sends more slowly for a while.

Keep going

Send one message to the whole folder and see the limits before you send.
